Nutrition

According to this latest article (and here, also in a study here), drinking coffee in the morning (specifically 8am - 9am, when your cortisol levels are highest) may in fact be the worst time for your body. Combining the cortisol spike induced from caffeine with our already high cortisol levels in the morning, can interfere with and unbalance the body’s production of cortisol, creating an unhealthy dependance on caffeine.

Fitness

Physical activity in middle age may likely delay development, progression and death from chronic lung disease according to this study. Not only that, but physical inactivity was suggested to speed up its progression.

Productivity Tip

Try purposely allowing for limited time on key projects. You will likely be more focused, motivated and productive.

In the same way that you inevitably fill a bigger house with more furniture, extra time to work makes it possible for you to add in unproductive actions.

Habit Hack of the week

In trying to reach a desired outcome via implementing new habits, set positive goals rather than negative ones. (Example, instead of framing a goal as "I will stop eating junk food", try "I will start eating healthy").

Our brain learns more effectively when working towards a positive goal because negative goals elicits feelings of incompetence and low self- esteem.
