Lyndsay Meyer
Head of Fitness and Training
Lyndsay Meyer was born and raised in Excelsior, Minnesota, on Lake Minnetonka. She was exposed to adventure and sport from a very young age and immediately embraced all they have to offer – the spirit of competition, the connections through camaraderie and the triumphs that come with personal challenges.
Lyndsay studied English and Art History at Colgate University, a private liberal arts college in Hamilton, New York, ranked as one of America’s leading universities, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree. A lifelong learner, she has continued to earn certifications including NASM Nutrition Specialist (NS), NASM Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) and National Academy of the School of Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer (CPT).
Her work experience is abundant ranging from outdoor sports to indoor fitness. While living in Manhattan in the late 90s / early 2000s, she was a regional manager at Equinox. A Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA)-certified ski instructor, she works for Aspen Skiing Company in the winters at Aspen Mountain Ski School as well as personal training mountain enthusiasts to get ready for their next adventure. She is a freelance travel and fitness writer, a fitness coach for Ski Zenit Ski Camps in Saas Fee, focusing on developing children’s biomechanics and fitness levels for future athletics. She is also our fitness director for Peak Health retreats.
Lyndsay’s vast number of athletic accomplishments also offers insight into the adventurous life she has created and how she strives for excellence in each pursuit, some of which are described on a Wikipedia page dedicated to her. She was on the first U.S. female team to race in many major international ski mountaineering (skimo) events including the three most notable races in the Alps – the Patrouille des Glaciers, organized every two years by the Swiss Armed Forces in which military and civilian teams compete; the Trofeo Mezzalama, the world's highest alpine ski mountaineering race, which is held in Italy; and Pierra Menta in the region of Beaufort, Savoie, in southeastern France. As a professional skier/ski mountaineer, she qualified for the World Championships in Ski Mountaineering, as well as the upcoming Ironman 70.3 in New Zealand (which has been cancelled due to Covid-19). As an endurance athlete, she has completed ultra trail runs, some of the hardest stage bike rides in the world and many triathlons. An accomplished mountaineer she has climbed and skied peaks including Mont Blanc in France and Mount Elbrus in Russia; climbed the Matterhorn and other peaks in Switzerland; climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Kenya, as well as many of Colorado’s 14ers.
Lyndsay loves to travel and is a specialist in adventure travel planning, accompanying clients on cycling and skiing adventures. Her husband, Danny Stoffel, is a guide and area manager for Canadian Mountain Holidays’ Valemount Lodge in ski season and a UFIMGA Mountain Guide in Switzerland in summer. Together, they have heli-skied in Canada, Iceland and the Himalaya.
